Greek produce sourcing

Who it is for, and what is included
Who it is for
Supermarket buyers, importers, wholesalers and food service operators in Central Europe who want Greek produce without building a Greek supply chain themselves.
What is included
Direct buying from growers and packing houses — no broker layer between you and the producer
Negotiated locally, in Greek, at the point of production
Grade and quality checked at intake, with batch records
Pre-cooling and cold storage before dispatch
One delivered price and one invoice: product, storage and transport
Cold chain in depth
Temperature bands and what belongs in them.
Produce is not stored at one temperature. Each chamber is held in a band, and each product goes to the band where it keeps longest.
−2 °C to +2 °C
Grapes, apples, pears, stone fruit, kiwi, cherries
Pulp-temperature check at goods-in, before acceptance
Ethylene producers kept apart from ethylene-sensitive produce
Loading at chamber temperature — no warm ramp, no broken chain
Storage temperatures are agreed per consignment. The bands above are our standard chamber settings.
Common questions
Answers to what buyers ask us most.
Which countries does Stolos Logistics cover?
We arrange road freight throughout the European Union — all 27 member states — plus Serbia and North Macedonia as Balkan transit countries. We hold operating bases in Slovakia, Germany and Greece, and a network of 17 warehouses across Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Greece.
Do you handle refrigerated transport for fresh produce?
Yes. We arrange temperature-controlled transport and refrigerated warehousing for fruit and vegetables, holding produce between −2 °C and +12 °C from intake through to cold loading, so the chain is never broken at the ramp.
What temperature ranges do you offer for cold storage?
Three standard chamber bands: −2 °C to +2 °C for grapes, apples, pears, stone fruit, kiwi and cherries; +2 °C to +8 °C for citrus, carrots, cabbage and leafy vegetables; and +8 °C to +12 °C for tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, courgettes and aubergines. Storage temperature is agreed per consignment.
What is the difference between FTL and LTL groupage?
FTL (full truckload) dedicates an entire trailer to one consignment, which is faster and involves no reloading. LTL groupage consolidates your pallets with other shipments on the same trailer, which costs less but takes longer. We arrange both, from a single pallet upwards.
Do you arrange customs clearance?
Yes. We prepare and lodge import and export declarations, handle T1 and T2 transit documents, carry out tariff classification and duty calculation, and coordinate with border and port agents at both ends of the route — timed with the transport so trucks do not wait.
How quickly will I receive a quotation?
Send the route, cargo details and preferred loading date through the quote form and you receive a written offer, usually within one business day.
Can you transport goods within Greece?
Yes. We arrange domestic collections and deliveries within Greece — from ports, produce markets and packing houses to warehouses, stores and consignees — including consolidating multiple pickups into a single load.
Do you serve supermarkets and retail chains?
Yes. Fresh produce moving from Greece to Central European retail is a core lane for us, combining cold storage, temperature-controlled transport and delivery into distribution centres under one contract and one invoice.
